West Side Pet Hospital strives to offer excellence in veterinary care to Evansville, IN and surrounding areas. Paw's Inn is our boarding & grooming facility located toward the back of our building. We offer boarding, bathing, and grooming for dogs & cats. Years of experience has made Paw's Inn the excellent care facility it is today. Dr. Mark E. Messal 

Dr. Messal is the owner of West Side Pet Hospital and Paw's Inn. He was born and raised in Michigan until the age of 13 when his family moved to Evansville. He attended Mater Dei High School and graduated from Purdue University in 1997. 


Dr. Messal joined the team of doctors at West Side Pet Hospital in June of 1997. In 2001, Dr. Mahrenholz, the doctor who founded West Side Pet Hospital retired and Dr. Messal purchased the hospital. He is active in all operations of the hospital as well as a practicing doctor.

Ruth 

Ruth is the administrative manager. She has been with West Side Pet Hospital & Paw's Inn since August 2000.

Diana

Diana is a receptionist. She has been with West Side Pet Hospital & Paw's Inn since August 2021.

Julie 

Julie is a veterinary assistant & an ultrasound sonographer. She has been with West Side Pet Hospital & Paw's Inn since March 2010.

Kassi

Kassi is a veterinary assistant. She has been with West Side Pet Hospital & Paw's Inn since April 2022.

Tracy 

Tracy is our certified pet groomer. She has been with West Side Pet Hospital & Paw's Inn since April 2013.
